The origin of World Bee Day

Bees are friends of mankind and the most important pollinator in nature. According to data from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, 91 of the 107 crops planted by humans rely on pollination by insects such as bees, accounting for 85% of the total. However, due to the abuse of pesticides and people's lack of awareness of bee protection, the living environment of bees is greatly threatened. On December 20, 2017, the United Nations declared May 20 every year as "World Bee Day" to remind people to re-examine the value of bees, an ancient insect, to ecological and human health. This year is the fourth "World Bee Day", the theme is "Little bees hold up the big dream of rural revitalization".
